Sensei Tom Gillis will be facilitating a private 4 hour class which explores common types of attacks that women face when being assaulted by a man. We also discuss issues surrounding the ethics of protecting yourself, what does law say, why do men attack women, some information around sexual assault, and some discussion surrounding domestic assault. The techniques include both being assaulted while standing and being thrown to the ground.
Tom been has trained in martial arts for 22 years, holds a 6th degree black belt in Ninjutsu, a black belt in Arnis (Filipino stick and knife fighting), and is the Alberta Leader for Meifu Shinkage Ryu (Japanese martial art). He was a sergeant in the Alberta sheriffs department before leaving to pursue martial arts as a career. Tom holds roughly 60 instructor certificates in various combat classes and has presented to people from around the world.
